- They scooped, they manufactured, they shipped – but after a combined 20 years Ryan and Dave left the ice cream industry. They were looking for a change, so they went out into the world and got non-ice cream jobs. This didn’t last long. They missed it. They missed making it, selling it and the thing they missed most was the people.

- So, in May of 2008 Shaker Pond Ice Cream was born. The company started as just a retail store in Alfred, ME (the ice cream was also made here). By September 2008 it could be found in a few small grocery stores, and now Shaker Pond Ice Cream is in over 50 locations in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts and at a second store location.
- The same people that they missed now help them create Shaker Pond’s Ice Cream flavors. Dave and Ryan conduct around 35 tastings a year. The flavors that get the thumbs up, stay. This helps ensure that all the flavors on the menu (now over 60 flavors) make tasters happy.
